# How Do I Find Fast-Growing Private Companies From Their Filed Accounts?

> A GTM play for Revnu. Private companies publish their numbers in filed accounts. Revnu reads them to find companies whose turnover and profit are growing, which have just taken on new borrowing, or whose accounts are late, and writes to each one about what that moment means.

Private companies don't announce their numbers, but many of them file them. Revnu reads filed accounts and filing history to find companies whose turnover jumped, whose profit grew, which just registered new borrowing, or whose accounts are late. Each one is a different moment, and each one gets a different email.

## Why it works

Turnover up 30% means a company is outgrowing its systems, team and suppliers. A new secured loan means money about to be spent on a site, equipment or an acquisition. Late accounts often mean the finance function is stretched. These are facts from the public record, so your email opens with something true and specific instead of a guess.

## How to run it

1. **Pick the moment.** Growth ("turnover up 20% or more"), new borrowing ("a new charge registered in the last 60 days") or strain ("accounts overdue").
2. **Describe the company.** Sector, region, size and anything else that fits your buyer.
3. **Read the filings.** Revnu reads each company's latest accounts and filing history and notes the numbers and dates behind the signal.
4. **Find the person.** The managing director, finance director or owner, with a checked work email.
5. **Write about the moment.** Growth gets "here's how to keep up". New borrowing gets "here's how to make the investment pay". Strain gets "here's how to take this off your plate".

Each lead keeps the figures and the filing link on its **Signals** tab. Your first sequence waits for your approval in **Review**.

## Run it every month

> On the 1st of every month, find companies in [sector] that filed accounts last month showing turnover growth of [20%] or more, and add the ones that fit our buyer to the Growing Companies campaign.

Set it up as a [workflow](https://revnu.com/docs/recurring-work.md) once and it runs on its own. See [recurring work with workflows](https://revnu.com/docs/recurring-work.md) and the [workflows API](https://revnu.com/docs/workflows.md).

## Frequently asked questions

### Which companies file accounts I can use?

In the UK every limited company files accounts at Companies House, and medium and large companies include turnover and profit. Smaller companies file a shorter version, so ask for the trend in net assets there instead.

### What is a charge?

A charge is security a company gives a lender, such as a bank loan secured on property or equipment. It's registered publicly with a date, so a new one is a dated sign of fresh borrowing.

### Can Revnu compare several years?

Yes. Ask for "the last three years of turnover and profit" and Revnu reads each set of filed accounts and shows the trend.

### Is it fine to mention their accounts in an email?

Filed accounts are public, and referencing growth is a compliment. Keep it to one line, and don't quote sensitive figures like losses or debt back at them.

### Does this work outside the UK?

It works wherever companies file public accounts or financial statements. Name the country and Revnu reads the registry that publishes them.
